Would it rain already...

I've heard thunder for the last hour, it's loud and it feels like it's just standing over my house threatening to rain any second.

Apparently the man upstairs is having a really good bowling match with his friends.. I think he got a few spares and strikes...

But anyway...

I'm blah today, I lost my creativity. I'm thinking it took a long vacation and decided to stay there. I have my dt kit that I've been staring at for hours and I just can't get it to look good anywhere...Who knows.... All that trying to get things to work has made me so sleepy today. Just ran out to the grocery store and I feel like I went for hours at the mall....

oh a nap sounds so good.... I might open my blinds and watch the rain come from bed, maybe grab a good book and of course the dog and rest a little bit..

Hopefully tomorrow will bring some creative juices back....
Maybe the rain will spark new life in this un-creative soul for today!

Update on School...

Ok honestly I need to go into school having a bad attitude more often, because I come out the first day of class feeling good and liking the teacher... oh and liking getting out early some of the time! woohoo...

that always seems to happen, it's the classes that I look forward to that are downers and the ones that have the wicked titles are the ones that I seem to enjoy..

Only exception to that rule was Children's Lit---walked in with a good attitude and walked out overjoyed...

Now I must go to bed...

Hello STRESS.............

I get an email at 2:48pm for my 5:30 class this evening. WOW--talk about last minute. So glad I was sitting next to the computer just patiently waiting for an email. God forbid I actually have a life or job and can't access a computer before I walk in the doors of the classroom..

Anyway the syllabus is 16 pages long along with a 58 page "a (mandatory-to-print) copy packet for our class." Oh joy!

looks like in 6 weeks I have to make reading assessments and go volunteer in some summer school program and administer my materials to a k-6 student. Gee that will be easy considering the kids that are in summer classes are usually the ones that need to be on task and focusing on the materials they need to learn...

so be it a college student come in and review materials for them... should be fun!

I plan to ask the teacher where we shall volunteer.......

I'm stuck as I signed a contract saying I would take this class during the summer in order to do my internship in the fall. I mean could it really be that bad, at least it isn't math--though it might give me an ulcer like college algebra was starting to do...

Goodbye Summer..... :)

Ahhh Happy Times..

Just got home from cropping all day with an awesome bunch of ladies!! I had such a great time creating, laughing, and eating (oh my gosh such good Latin food!!)....

I think I got 3 layouts and a card done, but I'm tired and don't feel like scanning them in.. So I'll do it tomorrow or the next day..

It's going to be a busy week for my lazy self...

last night (Friday) went to a movie with my friend Jessica. We went and saw Sex in the City. Both of us hadn't watched the series completely, but I'd seen a show here or there on re-runs.. So I knew the general idea---Oh my gosh it was so fun!!! Totally a girl movie.. Though I haven't seen that many naked behinds in a long time.... Though there were a few nice ones!!!

Today of course I spent the day doing my favorite activity in the company of amazing ladies!

Tomorrow is my day to clean up, do laundry, and try to prepare myself for school- boo
Monday---taking a scrapbook class where we will make a cute butterfly book!
Tuesday---school starts---boooooooooo 5:30-9:30 some reading class---basically a lot of how to test students and how to read their scores I think..
Wed.---morning-drop of consignment scrappy stuff for scrap yard sale at Scrappy evening-getting together again with Jessica and Laura (I hope she can come!!!)
Thurs--school :(
Friday--meeting up with Jessica in the morning to look at the scrapyard sale (kind of like a scrapbook consignment sale)
Sat.-chilling
sun-chilling
monday--going back to get what didn't sell and see how much of a gift certificate I get to spend at the store!!

then I'll get into the school spirit I hope, and Friday the 4th I'll be headed back down to the family of St.Pete to hang for the holiday weekend!!

oh where oh where does the time go...

right out the window I presume...

I leave tomorrow to go back to O-town and ready myself of 6 weeks of school, then a little break and then I'll be going full force into my first internship.. Two days a week in a school and then three classes split between Wed. and Thursday.. I will kill for my Friday's off for the moment.. I want to see how the schedule goes for a little bit and then we will see if I decide to get a job on top of that. Come Jan. I'll be teaching all week till April. I'm excited, I'm scared, I'm anxious, and honestly I wish it could be May 2009 already...

The next week is going to be lots of fun with a little bit of not so fun..
Tomorrow I'm hanging with my friend Jessica and go out for dinner and a movie, its been so long since I went to the movies... I need to make a habit of doing that more..
Then Sat. I'm going to be cropping all day which will be so very nice.
Sunday will be my day to clean up, mediate, and relax.
Monday going for a scrapbook class at Scrappy and
then Tuesday night I'll be sitting a room with 4-walls for 4hrs. twice a week.. Arghh..... 5:30-9:20 that just feels harsh.. But I really should be happy with what I have...

so here's to
friendly gatherings
buying over priced textbooks
reading
a little scrapping
more reading
and
getting to see the fam when I can!!!

Creative Again....

Always feel so much creativity when I am at my mom's house.. Don't have all my supplies here, but I always feel like the papers I create here are some of my best and favs...

So here are two that I did for MMFY June Challenges..

4th of July---a little bit early

Did this page for a challenge Sophia hosted over on MMFY.

I took these pictures of a bald eagle flying on my aunt and uncle's lake in Northern Wisconsin back in 2005. I did a page at one time and my cat got a hold of it and took a nice big bite, so when I saw this challenge I said oh man this is perfect..

The pattern paper is new by Bo Bunny and is their 4th of July/Americana line and it is also perfect for this theme...
The title is from a country song by Aaron Tippon that I just love!!

The first part of the title was done on the cricut using the stone script cartridge
the second part the & symbol and the eagle were done with chipboard thickers that I inked in red, white, blue (the & symbol) and then I took glossy accents and put it on top..

the word fly is done with thickers that are like felt.

the star was done with a piece of chipboard from the cosmo cricket bundle we got as MMFY DT for the Love Book.. I then took stripes of left over scraps of pp and tore them and then layered onto the star-then put a layer of glossy accents over it.
The swirls are pieces of felt that were pre-adhesive and a big sheet. I ran them thru my big kick (sizzix) with a swirl die cut I have..

Then took a sakura glaze pen that is called stardust and outlined everything..

the stars on the pattern paper also have glossy accents on them to just make it pop a little more..
