Sneak Peak

I had the pleasure of being a Guest Design Team member this month at Making Memories for You!
Our sponsor this month is My Favorite Things Stamps.

The projects/cards/layouts will be able to be seen in the ezine at MMFY come this Saturday Nov.1st, but I couldn't help give you a tiny sneak peak here on the blog...

Cleaning--not so much...

I'm going to get something done this weekend, I'm going to get something done this weekend... Well that's the plan anyway...

Here's the list..
-Clean out stuff I don't need in sunroom-i.e. (lift huge broken t.v. (yup it's been there a while).
-Begin move of scrapbook stuff to sunroom (ah that might be a day in itself.
-Move couch to old scrapbook area.
-Move computer desk where couch was.
-Vacuum (sure lots of pet fur will have been found by this point.
-Move little table from sun room into where computer desk use to be.

Oh and then there's the school part...
-Add stuff to teacher interview reflection (blah)
-Figure out a 4th grade geometry activity.
-Read a chapter and create questions for it
-Work on interventions that I am "suppose" to be giving my student. Ha!
-Redo part of case study.
-Write second part of case study (luckily not due next week, but the following..

Lovely weekend right?

Oh and in between,
stopping by school to see 2nd graders and having lunch with my friend Suzanne.

Nothing really new going on in my little corner of the world. This week I'm having one of those overwhelming feelings, not exactly sure why but I have stages where I feel like everything is just going to come down on me in the last few seconds. This is mainly when I have a lot of things that are due. I think I am nervous about everything that is going on especially this stupid case study for my reading class. I still have to figure out what I am exactly going to write......so crazy....

This layout let me use this new Bo Bunny "Believe Collection"
I just love the textured look of it!

Fall Cleaning.

I know it's suppose to be spring cleaning, but for some reason I'm an oddball and I get this urge to clean and re-arrange things in the fall.. I wish I had more time because I would start today. But there is no way I will get all my scrap stuff moved in one day along with tossing things. I have a lot of lug out to the trash and it's heavy stuff.. I have some chairs I need to toss and a few other things.. So my plan bearing any last minute homework add ons is to rearrange my apartment next weekend...
I'll Thursday afternoon to Sunday to do it..

Here's the plan..
Move the scrap stuff into the sunroom-where there is a wall of windows for some natural light. Only downside is there is no t.v. in there and I tend to watch t.v. and scrap quite often. Oh well...
Second move couch from one wall into the area that is suppose to be the dinning room that is now my scrap area. That way it falls on an already painted wall and in a big comfy spot. Then I will move the t.v. over a bit so that I have a direct view of the t.v. and maybe I will actually sit and watch t.v. It will be the first thing you see when you venture up the stairs into my apartment. Then I will move the computer desk and printer stand to where the couch was. This will allow for access to the t.v. as well.. Then I will move the table which is in the sun room now to where the computer desk is right now. It will sit next to 2 windows and maybe I'll actually eat there for once..

Here's the plan....

The change.

To those visting my blog....

Today I've noticed that a lot of new faces have been visiting my blog due to my blog address being listed on the scrapsmack blog. You know I must admit that's the first time I've ever been called annoying.. In 24 years of life this is a first. Interesting since I tend to think of myself as very reserved on message boards. So thanks for adding a new word to my list of attributes.

So for those of you that made your way from that thread to here, honestly you are probably wasting your time as my blog is mainly the going-on's of a 24 year college student who scrapbooks, complains about the stress of school, and posts stuff she does. SORRY.

As a future teacher I keep this blog stress and issue free because I feel like I need to be professional in all writings and posts I make. I would hope that you would see that I have never made a negative remark about anyone. You know the media is a powerful weapon, I've seen it first hand in REAL LIFE how stories come out with negative facts and twisted lies. So maybe that is why I take a step back from these postings on the web, because I know that there is a lot of pain and suffering in the world and that getting banned from a site is honestly the least of your worries. The internet is the strongest of these vices and to those of you who have these strong feelings I'm glad you have an outlet to voice your sorrows.

So if you have reached the end of this post and still find me annoying, I would say thanks for visiting and hope you enjoy the music.

A night of thought!

On my way to the movie theater I was stopped in line at a red light and there was a homeless man on the side of the road looking for work. Now typically I don't give money. Usually I don't have any cash on me. For some reason this man's stature grabbed me. I looked down towards my cup holders and realized I had a $5 bill sitting there. It had been there for a while and I had forgotten about it. A song came to my head (which I have included below) and I opened my window and handed him the bill. He told me his name and how he was looking for work and how he had been out on the street for six weeks. And even though most people might say that he was just giving me a story, for some reason he felt real and genuine. He so appreciate of the little money I gave him I almost thought I would cry. WOW who knew $5 could make someone so happy. That's just enough to get him a cheeseburger, a drink, and maybe some fries.

Now in the long run as the night continued I can look back and see why this happened on this particular night that it did. I didn't know the movie we were about to see...
So getting back to the movie my friend Angela invited me to go see a movie with her called Saving God.. Awesome movie, but it brought up a lot of emotion for me. I am not an emotional person, so I thought anyway, and I was in tears.

It was part of the Florida Christian Film Festival and at the end the director of the film festival came up and spoke. He made a comment that really stuck with me, it came to the point of pretty much you never know when it may be the end and do you have any doubts that you will be going to heaven... It really kind of grabbed me... I think I was slightly shaken at the point. I'm not sure where I stand on that, I believe in God, but that's not the whole thing.. I need to get further than that.

On the way home from the theater at about 11:15 I was stopped at a red light with two cars in front of me. The light turned green and we started to move. Oddly I hesitated for a second not letting my foot off the gas. I was still moved by the movie's message and I figured oh I must be tired. I just happen to glance to my left and saw a car speeding towards a red light. He ran the red light as we were all about to go. Luckily no one had started going yet, but my mind was racing with holy cow was that a sign?????

So last night while I lay in bed trying to fall asleep, thinking about what I had just seen I thought to myself what sins have I done and what makes me the person I am today. I couldn't sleep I tell you, my mind was swimming with thoughts. I closed my eyes and I felt myself thinking and talking and thanking the man upstairs for every opportunity I have had and then I said I'm sorry for all the things I've asked for that seem so petty now in the big picture....

The song..
here's a man standing on the corner
With a sign sayin "will work for food"
You know the man
You see him every morning
The one you never give your money to
You can sit there with your window rolled up
Wondering when the lights going to turn green
Never knowing what a couple more bucks
In his pocket might mean

What if he's an angel sent here from Heaven
And he's making certain that you're doing your best
To take the time to help one another
Brother are you going to pass that test
You can go on with your day to day
Trying to forget what you saw in his face
Knowing deep down it could have been his saving grace
What if he's an angel

Cards...

Will have to scan them and post them later but Tuesday was my last day in second grade. A few of the girls knew I was leaving and made me cards after they had finished their science lesson. It was so sweet I almost was in tears. They have only known me for 4 weeks and yet they truly had such cute emotions to them. I will miss the hugs I got some mornings and afternoons by one of the girls. I bought my camera but not my card so plan to go in next week and get a picture with the class. Monday I will begin as a third grade intern... Should be interesting..

the day

it wasn't as bad I thought it would be...

Terrible No Good Day

It's starting out that way this Colombus Day morning.. Wish the schools recognized it as a holiday. I was awake at 5:45 and couldn't get back to sleep. Finally got up at 6:45 rather than 7 to find my clothes not dry in the dryer. Arghh... Both pairs of pants I usually wear where in there.... All my other pants are black and I can't wear those right now because I will be engulfed in fur from my two pets..

Let's hope they dry by 7:40 and that my day gets better...

I'm so grumpy lately and I don't like that about me....

lazy day..

well I didn't sleep till noon, actually only about an hr. and a half later than usual. I couldn't sleep after 8:30, scary since most of my lazy day sleeping can go till at least 10 or 10:30.. Nope today I had to get up..

though I did take a 3 hr. nap this afternoon. I was soooo tired from going out to the store. I hate being sick and being so tired. It's only 9pm now and I'm thinking I want to go back to bed soon.

The only thing I got done today was a circle journal in the way of scrapbooking. I just can't sit down and feel like scrapping.. Tomorrow homework calls, maybe if I get done I will have time to scrap!

Ahh Friday

I can't believe the week is finally over. I stayed home on Tuesday because I felt miserable.. I made it up today and this morning I really wanted to turn around and go back to sleep.. Not because of the kids, not because of getting up early, mainly because I was so tired and sick.. Tomorrow I'm sleeping till noon-okay probably not-but it is nice to know I could... I'm planning to scrap for a little bit tomorrow and will use Sunday to get homework done. I have to write the beginnings of my case study for my reading class and I have to say I am dreading it. I HATE THIS READING CLASS. It will drive me crazy one way or another... Oh wait completely crazed already.. Is it December yet?

I really liked not having class this week and I am liking actually being at a school. Apparently I actually can do this.. LOL! I got my reviews back from my teacher today and got pretty good marks. Things I could improve on are things I totally agree with...

a few more photos....

The headless horseman takes a stroll down Mainstreet.
I love how this one came out with Goofy riding in the front of the goofy candy company. Like the moment involved with it.
This was actually really cool. they took the shovels and like dragged them on the ground to create sparks.. pretty cool.
Another one that didn't come out to good, but kind of a bit creepy if you think about it....
During the fireworks show, we were standing in line to see Tigger and Piglet and I just turned around and looked up to an amazing display. I love my camera when it comes to fireworks pics. Still working with it on night shots, but we got the fireworks thing down!

The start of the Mickey's Boo to You Parade.. Amazing what they come up with!

I like how the light got the Queen here...
Who could forget Jack???

A ghoulish time was had by all...

Some photos from last night at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at Disney World..
My friend Suzanne invited me along and we had such a good time!

What do you do??

As I mentioned earlier I think I caught some germs at school that decided they wanted to invade.. My nose is all stuffed up and my throat is real scratchy. I can still smell things though and every time I smell something bad I feel like I'm going to be sick to my stomach..

What kind of things do you do when you are sick, like Homemade remedies. If I were closer to home I'd ask my grandma to make some of her chicken soup-she adds meatballs, carrots, and a bunch of other yummy stuff in it. Here I just broke down and bought me some Campbell's--it doesn't compare...

Another thing I recently did was a buy a candle called sinus relief from Making Scents for you --I love it.. It is currently sitting on the candle warmer making my apartment smell minty fresh!

Europe Book!

I took this as a class back in August at Scrappy Boutique here in Orlando... Finally got most of the pictures in and I love it!
